Bishkek, Jan.17, 2025. /Kabar/. A traditional annual reception organized on behalf of Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev for the diplomatic corps took place in Bishkek on Jan. 16.
The press service of the ministry reported that the event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic.
In his welcoming speech, Kulubaev congratulated the guests on the New Year 2025 and expressed gratitude for fruitful cooperation in the past year.
The main purpose of the event was to summarize the results of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy activities for 2024 and familiarize the diplomatic corps with the priority tasks for the coming period defined by President Sadyr Zhaparov.
As the key achievements of foreign policy activities, the Kyrgyz foreign minister noted the continuation of multi-vector foreign policy aimed at strengthening international cooperation, as well as active interaction with traditional and strategic partners in all directions.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan in 2024 nominated its candidacy to the Non-Permanent Members of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028 and expressed hope that Kyrgyzstan's candidacy would be supported, which would make a significant contribution to strengthening international peace and security.
As priorities and initiatives for the future, Jeenbek Kulubaev paid special attention to the efforts of the Kyrgyz Republic to promote the mechanism of exchange of foreign debt for the development of “green economy” to support sustainable development, as well as the fight against climate change and striving to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Summarizing the results, the minister expressed confidence in further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation and thanked the international community for supporting the initiatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, noting the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide comprehensive assistance in their activities.
