Belarus presidential election: Turnout at 17.67% on two days of early voting

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) - On the first two days of early voting in Belarus' presidential election, the turnout made up 17.67%, BelTA learned from the Central Election Commission.

The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast - 19.35%, Vitebsk Oblast - 18.35%, Gomel Oblast - 17.67%, Grodno Oblast - 15.13%, Minsk Oblast - 17.72%, Mogilev Oblast - 17.98%, Minsk - 17.20%.

Early voting is taking place on 21-25 January 2025. Early voting is meant for people who will not be able to come to polling stations on 26 January. During early voting, precinct commissions will work from 12:00 to 19:00 without a break.

The main election day is scheduled for 26 January. Voters will be able to cast their ballots from 8:00 to 20:00.

A total of 44,361 national observers are monitoring the voting process in the country.
