Confidence in financial stability increased among Kyrgyzstanis: data

During at the staff meeting on Monday, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov presented the latest data of the World Bank monitoring “Listening to the Kyrgyz Republic” for the period from December 2021 to October 2024 on socio-economic well-being of the population.

The monitoring states the following:

- Improved financial security of households - the share of households confident in their financial stability increased from 34% in December 2021 to 74% in September 2024 - this is in villages, in cities from 33% to 71%.

Thus, the share of households confident in their financial stability increased significantly. The data firmly indicate a significant increase in the level of confidence of the population in their economic security.

These figures reflect that the improvement in the food security situation is felt everywhere. Thus, the proportion of households feeling financially secure and confident about food security has doubled.

- Reduction of subjective poverty - the share of households that consider themselves poor decreased from 29% in 2021 to 16% in 2024 - in villages, in cities - from 30% to 18%;

- Increased life satisfaction - the share of households satisfied with their lives increases from 54% in 2021 to 74% in 2024. This is significant progress and is a strong indicator of an increase in overall well-being;

- Improved perception of economic conditions - the level of confidence that the country is moving in the right direction has also increased significantly. Among rural residents, this has increased from 71% in 2021 to 89% in 2024, and among urban residents from 56% to 86%;

- The percentage of citizens who are confident in the effectiveness of the fight against corruption shows an impressive increase. Among the urban population, this indicator increased from 60% in December 2021 to 88% in September 2024, and among rural residents from 83% to 89%;

- Dialogue with citizens - on the government's interaction with citizens, the percentage of those satisfied increased from 61% in 2021 to 79% in 2024 - this is the opinion of rural households.
