Bishkek, Nov.18, 2024. /Kabar/. Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Maksutov held a meeting with Head of UNICEF in Kyrgyzstan Samman Jung Thapa.
The meeting discussed key initiatives aimed at the development of early childhood education, systemic work with youth, volunteering and the U-Report program.
The minister stressed the importance of introducing UNICEF's Early Childhood Development Center program in libraries and music schools in Kyrgyzstan. Altynbek Maksutov noted that this program can be a significant step in stimulating neural development of children and shaping their creative and cognitive abilities through music.
Samman Jung Thapa expressed interest in this initiative and noted that UNICEF is ready to continue working on the implementation of the program in Kyrgyzstan. He stressed that the organization is ready to provide the necessary support for the implementation of this important project, which, in his opinion, will contribute to the development of both children and educational infrastructure in the country.
The culture minister of Kyrgyzstan was also invited to the opening of the exposition dedicated to Children's Day at the Kyrgyz National History Museum. The exposition “The Historical Path of Children of Kyrgyzstan” is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which will be held on Nov. 20.
Altynbek Maksutov and Samman Jung Thapa agreed on further cooperation and holding joint events to discuss the details of the implementation of youth programs.
