Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2024. /Kabar/. By the end of this year, GDP per capita will be about USD 2500, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said, speaking at the annual National Forum dedicated to the topic “Human Capital for Sustainable Development”.

The head of the Cabinet emphasized that the only wealth, the only potential that can raise Kyrgyzstan to new heights is the human capital embedded in our multinational people.

“Our President has clearly set the most important task before the Government - to unlock the potential of our citizens, create opportunities for receiving quality education and learning new skills, improving health, developing creative abilities, increasing jobs and supporting various initiatives. We believe that investments in education, health care, social security are the most effective investments that lay the foundation for a strong and prosperous nation of tomorrow. Today's forum is an invitation to government agencies, the private sector, civil society and our international partners to dialog on how we can build a Kyrgyzstan that in conditions of stability and peace will provide everyone with the opportunity to live, study and work in dignity,” he said.

Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the current economic policy has strengthened the country's position: last year Kyrgyzstan's GDP exceeded KGS 1.2 trillion, and this year the figure is expected to reach KGS 1.5 trillion.

“We expect GDP per capita to be around USD 2,500, so we can say that the volume of GDP has doubled in four years. The country's budget has tripled in three years, in 2020 it amounted to KGS 247.7 billion, and in 2024 it will exceed KGS 660 billion,” the head of the Cabinet said.
