Kyrgyzstan, OPEC Fund to develop Roadmap for implementation of joint projects

Bishkek, Nov.4, 2024. /Kabar/. Within the framework of the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Austrian Commission on Bilateral Economic Relations, which took place in Vienna, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Sanzhar Bolotov met with Vice President of the OPEC Fund Shaimaa Al-Sheibi.

During the meeting, Sanzhar Bolotov presented information on the current economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the ongoing reforms aimed at creating a favorable business environment and attracting foreign investment.

Special attention was paid to key strategic projects, such as the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad, which are of great importance for the development of the country's infrastructure.

The deputy minister proposed the OPEC Fund to consider the possibility of participation in the implementation of projects in the spheres of energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture and housing mortgage construction.

The sides also discussed the prospects of financing private investment projects on the basis of the Framework Agreement on Organization of Private Sector Operations between Kyrgyzstan and the OPEC Fund, signed on Aug.22, 2024.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in further cooperation and agreed to develop a Roadmap for the implementation of joint projects, which will be an important step in strengthening bilateral economic ties.
