Bishkek, Jan.22, 2025. /Kabar/. First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev met with Resident Coordinator of the UN system in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grawe.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements and “synchronized watches” on the results of negotiations of Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev with Antje Grawe, which were held last week, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The sides discussed the successful participation of Kyrgyzstan in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and preparation for the 30th Conference of the Parties to be held in Brazil.
Daniyar Amangeldiev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, noting the ambitious goal of becoming one of the top thirty countries to implement the SDGs by 2030.
He also emphasized the sustainable development of mountain regions and initiatives in this direction, including assistance in the implementation of the five-year roadmap for the “Mountain Five-Year Plan” and “green” projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in achieving greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
In turn, Antje Grawe noted the importance of ongoing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN, emphasizing the significance of joint efforts to achieve the set goals. She expressed readiness to support the implementation of projects aimed at sustainable development and environmental protection.
