Bishkek, Jan.21, 2025. /Kabar/. Special Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan for the implementation of the Five-Year Action Plan for the Development of Mountain Regions Dinara Kemelova held a meeting with Alexandra Solovieva, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current cooperation and plans of interaction on the implementation of the Five-Year Action Plan for the Development of Mountain Regions, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.
In particular, they considered issues related to improving the socio-economic situation of residents of mountainous regions, ensuring their access to infrastructure, energy, health care, water and sanitation and other social services.
Dinara Kemelova told about a number of planned international events within the Five-Year Action Plan for Mountain Regions.
In turn, Head of the UNDP in Kyrgyzstan Alexandra Solovieva expressed full commitment to further cooperation on the mountain agenda and noted the readiness to actively participate in the implementation of joint projects aimed at improving the living conditions and quality of life of mountain residents, as well as support for women and vulnerable groups.
The sides agreed to continue close and active cooperation to support mountain communities, protect mountain ecosystems, conduct joint activities, research and implement projects on sustainable mountain development.
