Bishkek, Jan.17, 2025. /Kabar/. Long-term credit rating of Kyrgyzstan has increased, which is a good signal for external investors, Medet Nazaraliev, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange said on the air of Birinchi Radio.
The Russian Analytical Credit Rating Agency (ACRA) raised the long-term credit rating of Kyrgyzstan to B+ on the international scale in foreign and local currency.
Medet Nazaraliev added that short-term ratings are affirmed at B. The outlook on long-term ratings has been changed to stable, which indicates a high probability of maintaining the current rating in the next 12-18 months.
“The credit rating is the most important indicator for external investors. This is due to the growth of the economy and living standards in the country. External investors always trust independent international agencies that openly and objectively assess the credit ratings of countries.
In addition, last year the international rating agency Moody's upgraded the credit rating of Kyrgyzstan from negative to stable. The agency affirmed the long-term issuer rating in local and foreign currency at B3. The change in the outlook means the return of the balance of risks to a stable level. This was a good signal for investors. And we moved to the group of countries with stable credit rating. The improvement of the country's credit rating is influenced by many factors, including the implementation of projects. Today we see that many projects are being launched in the country. It is in practical terms that projects have started to be realized,” he said.
