Bishkek, Nov.18, 2024. /Kabar/. Member of the Central Election Commission of Russia Anton Lopatin observed the elections to local councils of Kyrgyzstan, which are held after the administrative reform in 2024.
Lopatin visited polling stations in Bishkek and Chui Oblast and noted the high level of training of members of election commissions, the Russia’s Embassy in Kyrgyzstan said.
Of particular interest are the innovations of the electoral process in the country: the system of identification of voters by biometric and personal data, as well as the printing of unique ballots for each voter.
“We visited 11 polling stations, we paid attention to the high professionalism of members of election commissions, technical equipment of polling stations and high organization of the whole process. We talked to local observers and voters, who confirm that the standards used by our colleagues from Kyrgyzstan are trusted and respected, voters go to vote, and this is the most important thing,” said the representative of the Russian CEC.
During the visit, Anton Lopatin met with Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Sergey Vakunov, participated in a roundtable discussion on the institutional features of Kyrgyz elections, held working meetings with representatives of the Central Election Commissions of Mongolia and CIS countries, and conveyed to Chairwoman of Kyrgyzstan’s CEC Nurzhan Shaildabekova the wishes of Chair of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova for a successful election.
