Bishkek, Oct.17, 2024. /Kabar/. According to the results of 6 months of 2024, the volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) from Russia to Kyrgyzstan increased by 24.2%.
The Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan reported that this figure amounted to USD 108.3 million in comparison with the last year’s indicators.
Thus, Russia accounted for almost a quarter of the total FDI inflow to the Kyrgyz Republic. The total volume of FDI in January-June 2024 equaled USD 462.2 million (+7.7% YoY).
The main volume of FDI was directed to manufacturing enterprises (36.5%), wholesale and retail trade (18.6%), mining (14.5%), financial intermediation and insurance (11.4%), information technology and communications (6.2%).
The majority of FDI distributed for Bishkek (49.6%), as well as Chui (20.9%), Jalal-Abad (14.2%) and Talas (11.0%) Oblasts.
Main investor countries are China, Russia, Turkey.
