Bishkek, Jan.22, 2025. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received on Wednesday Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping on the occasion of presenting her credentials, his press service said.

The Kyrgyz leader congratulated the ambassador on the beginning of her diplomatic mission and noted that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the established comprehensive strategic partnership with the People's Republic of China.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to China for its active assistance in the implementation of infrastructure and social projects, which play a key role in the development of the state.

“In September, we jointly with the Chinese side opened the third border crossing point Bedel, which was another step towards strengthening transport interconnectivity with China. One of the historic events was the start of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway on Dec.27 last year in Jalal-Abad,” the president said.

He noted that China is one of the main trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan and expressed satisfaction that the volume of bilateral trade turnover continues to show stable growth.

In turn, Ambassador Liu Jiangping called her appointment a historic moment in her life and expressed readiness for fruitful work in strengthening bilateral cooperation. She emphasized that she is well acquainted with the culture and social life of Kyrgyzstan, which contributes to her desire to effectively develop diplomatic relations between the countries.

The newly appointed ambassador called the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway one of the key projects that she intends to actively support.

She paid special attention to the issue of transport interconnectivity, noting the recent opening of the Bedel border crossing point. Liu Jiangping emphasized that of the eight checkpoints operating on China's border with Central Asian countries, three are located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, reflecting the high level of cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador also emphasized the significant progress in the implementation of infrastructure and investment projects, such as the launch of the Junda plant in 2024.

In this context, Liu Jiangping emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in mutual investment. She noted the high interest of Chinese entrepreneurs in business development in Kyrgyzstan, which became possible due to the open and favorable investment climate in the country.
