Bishkek, Jan.17, 2024. /Kabar/. The Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic is hosting a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of the country's development for 2024.
In his report, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Daniyar Amangeldiev noted the significant growth of GDP, industry and agriculture.
“The volume of GDP amounted to KGS 1 trillion 523 billion, which is 9% more than last year. Excluding Kumtor, the growth amounted to 10.3%. GDP per capita reached KGS 2,431. The volume of industrial production exceeded KGS 585 billion, the growth amounted to 5.6%, due to commissioning of 102 new enterprises, including oil refining and gold mining. Production of automobiles was launched. The volume of gross output reached KGS 395.6 billion, the growth amounted to 6.3%,” Amangeldiev noted.
The first deputy chairman added that there was a significant increase in the yield of cereals, particularly wheat and sugar beet, which allowed to fully meet the country's domestic needs for sugar.
He also said foreign trade amounted to USD 14.6 billion with exports increasing by 21.3% and imports decreasing by 0.8%.
“The inflation rate fell to 6.3% by the end of the year, the third consecutive year of decline despite external risks. Total investment in new enterprises amounted to USD 2.2 billion, 19 thousand new jobs were created,” he emphasized.
