Bishkek, Dec. 2, 2024. /Kabar/. On November 30, the winter tourist season was ceremonially opened at the famous Karakol ski resort, the Issyk-Kul regional state administration reported.
The event was attended by first deputy governor Daniyar Arpachiev, the head of the Fund for Support of Tourism Development in the Kyrgyz Republic Kylychbek Rysaliev and representatives of regional structures.
In his speech, Daniyar Arpachiev emphasized that the Issyk-Kul region has great potential for the development of winter tourism. "According to preliminary data, about 2 million tourists visited our region this year, of which more than 300 thousand were guests from near and far abroad. This figure is growing every year. The Karakol ski resort has become not only a calling card of Issyk-Kul, but also one of the key winter tourism sites in the country. This year, 3 kilometers of the road leading to the Karakol ski resort were repaired. In addition, large-scale projects such as Three Peaks and Karkyra Resort are being implemented. All this shows that President Sadyr Zhaparov pays special attention to the development of tourism. Thanks to his support and initiatives, winter tourism in Kyrgyzstan is reaching a new level,” he noted. The program of the event included demonstration performances in skiing, master classes for winter sports enthusiasts.
